José Andrés Blanco (Blanquito Man) died on November 16, 2017, due to complications from colon cancer. In 2020, Blanco's brother and former keyboardist, Luis Eduardo Blanco (Negrito Man) reformed the band as a three-piece and has continued to tour under the King Changó name. Latin Music (genre)
Latin music ( Portuguese and ) is a term used by the music industry as a catch-all category for various styles of music from Ibero-America, which encompasses Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and the Latino population in Canada and the United States, as well as music that is sung in either Spanish and/or Portuguese. It may also include music from other territories where Spanish- and Portuguese-language music is made. Luaka Bop is a New York–based record label founded by musician David Byrne, former lead singer and guitarist for the art rock– new wave band Talking Heads. What began with Byrne making cassettes of his favorite Tropicália tracks for his friends became a full-fledged record label in 1988 after Byrne received a solo artist deal from Warner Bros.
