Kienberg (Gärten Der Welt) (Berlin U-Bahn)
Kienberg (Gärten der Welt) is a station on the U-Bahn in the German capital city of Berlin. It is located on the line. Location The underground station is located in the section east of the Hellersdorfer Straße. It has a central platform, which is continuously covered by a one-piece reinforced concrete structure. The color of the station, which can be found on the roof supports and in the entrance area, is gray. There are outputs at both ends; in the south via a pedestrian bridge to Hellersdorfer Straße and Erich-Kästner-Straße and in the north to Neue Grottkauer Straße. The latter also has a ramp for barrier-free access, which was supplemented by a lift in the course of the construction work on the occasion of the International Garden Exhibition 2017 in December 2016. Heinz Hoffmann
Heinz Hoffmann (28 November 1910 – 2 December 1985) was Minister of National Defense in the Council of Ministers of the German Democratic Republic, and since 2 October 1973 member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, Socialist Unity Party (SED). Youth Born in Mannheim, Grand Duchy of Baden, Hoffmann came from a working-class family. After attending school in Mannheim, he spent the 1925 – 1930 period learning to be an engine fitter at MWM (Motoren Werke Mannheim AG). From 1926 to 1930 he was a member of the Young Communist League of Germany, followed by membership in the Communist Party of Germany (KPD). An aerial tramway, sky tram, cable car, ropeway, aerial tram, telepherique, or seilbahn is a type of aerial lift which uses one or two stationary ropes for support while a third moving rope provides propulsion. The Internationale Gartenausstellung 2017 (IGA 2017) was an international horticultural exhibition that took place in Berlin, Germany, in 2017. History History of the site The venue is the area surrounding the Kienberg that was originally known as ''Berliner Gartenschau''. This was the horticultural exposition held in 1987, in that times in East Germany, in commemoration of the 750th birthday of the city of Berlin. In 1991, after German reunification the park was renamed to '' Erholungspark Marzahn'' and expanded afterwards. During the years 2000 - 2006 several gardens modeled after Asian examples were added. Since 2007 gardens modelled after European examples followed. In 2013 works began to prepare for the IGA 2017. Marzahn-Hellersdorf
Marzahn-Hellersdorf () is the tenth borough of Berlin, formed in 2001 by merging the former boroughs of Marzahn and Hellersdorf. Geography It is situated in the northeast of Berlin. Marzahn-Hellersdorf borders to the Berlin boroughs of Lichtenberg in the west and Treptow-Köpenick in the south as well as to the Brandenburg municipalities of Ahrensfelde in the north and Hoppegarten and Neuenhagen in the east. Demographics As of 2010, the borough had a total population 248,264, of whom about 30,000 (12%) were of non-German origin. Therefore, it is considered to be the least ethnically diverse borough of Berlin with the highest percentage of (Ethnic) Germans.
