Khlong Saen Saep
Khlong Saen Saep (, ) is a canal ''(khlong)'' in central Thailand, connecting the Chao Phraya River to Prachinburi Province and Chachoengsao Province, Chachoengsao. A portion of the canal is used for public transport by an express boat service in Bangkok. The 72 km long canal passes through 21 districts and is connected to more than 100 smaller canals. History The Saen Saep Canal was built on the order of Jessadabodindra, King Rama III during a conflict between Siam and Vietnam, Annam over Cambodia in order to establish water transport for soldiers and weapons. Construction began in 1837 and cost 96,000 Baht. Construction was finished in three years. Klong Saen Saep was once filled with Nelumbo_nucifera, lotus plants. Khlong Maha Nak
Khlong Maha Nak (, ) is a ('canal') in Bangkok and considered one of Bangkok's oldest canals. It starts from Khlong Rop Krung (the old city moat) in the area of Mahakan Fort and Wat Saket's Golden Mount and continues to the east as far as ends at the intersection with Khlong Saen Saep in Ban Khrua neighbourhood, tote distance . The canal was started by the royal intention of King Phutthayotfa Chulalok (Rama I) in 1783, one year after establishment of Rattanakosin kingdom (modern-day Bangkok), and was used as a waterway for boating and playing (; a kind of Thai poem). Mongkut (18 October 18041 October 1868) was the fourth king of Siam from the Chakri dynasty, titled Rama IV. He reigned from 1851 until his death in 1868. Bang Kapi District
Bang Kapi (, ) is one of the 50 districts (''khet'') of Bangkok, Thailand. It is bounded by other Bangkok districts (from north clockwise): Bueng Kum, Saphan Sung, Prawet, Suan Luang, Huai Khwang, Wang Thonglang, and Lat Phrao. Name The name Bang Kapi consists of two parts. ''Bang'' is a common prefix for place names in Thailand and roughly means a "hamlet by the waterfront". There are multiple theories as to the origin of ''kapi''. Biochemical oxygen demand (also known as BOD or biological oxygen demand) is an analytical parameter representing the amount of dissolved oxygen (DO) consumed by aerobic bacteria growing on the organic material present in a water sample at a specific temperature over a specific time period. The BOD value is most commonly expressed in milligrams of oxygen consumed per liter of sample during 5 days of incubation at 20 °C and is often used as a surrogate of the degree of organic water pollution. Ban Khrua (, ; other spellings include ''Ban Krua'' and ''Baan Krua'') is a historic community neighborhood along Bangkok's Khlong Saen Saep from Saphan Hua Chang to Wat Phrayayang.
