Kevin Jer O'Sullivan
Kevin Jeremiah O'Sullivan (born 1948) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a right wing-back at senior level for the Cork county team. Born in Adrigole, County Cork, O'Sullivan first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty when he first linked up with the Cork under-21 team. He made his senior debut during the 1968-69 league. O'Sullivan quickly became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won one All-Ireland medal and three Munster medals. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team for five consecutive years O'Sullivan won two Railway Cup medals. Adrigole GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Adrigole in County Cork, Ireland. The club, situated in the Beara Peninsula, is exclusively concerned with the game of Gaelic football. History Located in the village of Adrigole in the Beara Peninsula, Adrigole GAA Club was founded in 1927 following the establishment of the Beara Board. The club has spent most of its existence operating in the Beara JAFC, winning 22 titles from 33 final appearances. The club achieved senior status for the first time after their 2-09 to 1-06 defeat of Kildorrery in the 1979 Cork IFC final. After eventually being relegated back to the junior ranks, Adrigole claimed the Cork JAFC title after a 0-05 to 0-03 defeat of Grenagh in 2006. Railway Cup
The GAA Interprovincial Championship () or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling). The first Railway Cup competitions (the name is due to the donation of the trophy by Irish Rail) were held in 1927, with Munster winning the first football title and Leinster winning the first hurling title. Presently, Ulster hold the record for the most football Railway Cup wins with 30, while Munster has won the most hurling titles with 43. Adrigole () is a village on the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland. It is centred on the junction of the R572 and R574 regional roads. As of the 2022 census, the electoral division in which the village sits had a population of about 500 people. Adrigole is a scattered village strung approximately 9 km along the north-western shore of Bantry Bay on the scenic south coast of the Beara Peninsula. Looming over it is Hungry Hill (687m, 2,253 ft) with two rock-girt lakes which feed a cascade. Hungry Hill is the highest of the Caha range which forms the spine of the peninsula, and gave its name to Daphne du Maurier's novel about the local copper-mining barons of the 19th century. The 1975 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 89th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 25 May 1975 and ended on 28 September 1975. Dublin were the defending champions. London fielded a team in the senior championship for the first time. On 28 September 1975, Kerry won the championship following a 2-12 to 0-11 defeat of Dublin in the All-Ireland final. This was their 23rd All-Ireland title, their first in five championship seasons. The Munster Senior Club Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Football Senior Club Championship) is an annual Gaelic football competition for the champion clubs of each county. Beara GAA is a division of Cork GAA, and is responsible for organizing Gaelic Athletic Association games in the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. Currently, the following clubs are part of the Beara division - Castletownbere, Adrigole, Urhan, Garnish, Bere Island and Glengarriff. The Cork county football team represents Cork in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Cork GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
