Kerala State Electricity Board
Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is an Indian public sector undertaking under the Government of Kerala that generates, transmits and distributes electricity in the state under government monopoly. Established in 1957, the agency comes under the authority of the Department of Power. It has been registered under Indian companies act during January 2011. History * The history of electricity in the state is around one century old. The first effort in this direction was a private endeavour. Electricity was first brought to the state by a British company – the Kannan Devan Hill Produce Company, Munnar. The first generating station of the state was set up on the right bank of a tributary of River Periyar in 1910. Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram (; ), also known by its former name Trivandrum (), is the capital of the Indian state of Kerala. It is the most populous city in Kerala with a population of 957,730 as of 2011. The encompassing urban agglomeration population is around 1.68 million. Peringalkuthu Dam
Peringalkuthu Dam is a concrete dam built across the Chalakkudi River in Thrissur district, Kerala state of India. It also contains Peringalkuthu Hydro Electric Power Project of Kerala State Electricity Board who owns the dam. This is the first hydro electric power project to build on the Chalakkudi River. The gross storage capacity of the dam is 32 million cubic meters (1.13 tmc ft). The dam is situated in deep forest and special permission is needed to visit the dam. Reservoir The Poringalkuthu reservoir is created by constructing a dam across Chalakudy river. The inflow of Poringalkuthu reservoir is contributed partly from the tail water of upstream Sholayar HEP. In addition, the reservoir receives water from catchments downstream of Parambikulam and Thunakadavu dams of PAP Project. The spill waters of above dams also flow to this reservoir. Kochi Metro Rail Limited, abbreviated to KMRL, is a centre-state public sector company in Kochi, Kerala, India, that operates the Kochi Metro and Kochi Water Metro. The company was incorporated on 2 August 2011. History Kochi Metro Rail Limited is responsible for the implementation, operation and maintenance of Kochi Metro Rail Project and Kochi Water Metro Project as per orders from the Planning Commission and the Union Government. KMRL is a joint venture company with equal equity contribution of Government of India and Government of Kerala. Nedumbassery
Nedumbassery, , is a suburb of the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. Situated around northeast of the city centre, Nedumbassery is also an integral part of the Kochi Metropolitan Area. Location Nedumbassery lies between the two municipalities of Aluva and Angamaly in the Greater Cochin region. It had a population of 28,607 as of 2001, with a sex-ratio of 1012 females to 1000 males.
