Kenwick, Western Australia is a mixed residential, light industrial and semi-rural suburb located in the south-east of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Gosnells. A large portion of the suburb is composed of remnant agricultural land organised as smallholdings of several acres, as well as relatively pristine native wetlands, including the Brixton Street Wetlands which are of significant conservation value. It also contains several sites of historical significance relating to its status as one of the early farming communities of the Swan River Colony. Kenwick is bounded on the south-west by the Canning River and on the north-west by the Roe Highway. Albany Highway, the main south-east arterial transport route, runs through the western part of the suburb. The Swan River Colony, also known as the Swan River Settlement, or just ''Swan River'', was a British colony established in 1829 on the Swan River, in Western Australia. This initial settlement place on the Swan River was soon named Perth, and it became the capital city of Western Australia. The name was a ''pars pro toto'' for Western Australia. On 6 February 1832, the colony was renamed the Colony of Western Australia, when the colony's founding lieutenant-governor, Captain James Stirling, belatedly received his commission. Armadale Line
The Armadale line is a partially-closed suburban railway service in Perth, Western Australia, operated by the Public Transport Authority as part of the Transperth system. The Armadale line is long, and starts at Perth station, heading south-east of there to serve Perth's south-eastern suburbs, terminating at Armadale station. Since June 2025, the line has been closed from Beckenham Station to Armadale for the Rail Revitalisation Program and Byford extension with services operating between Perth and Cannington, as Beckanham is only being serviced by Thornlie-Cockburn Line services. Westfield Carousel is an Australian shopping centre in the Perth suburb of Cannington, Western Australia, Cannington. It is located approximately from the Perth central business district on the Albany Highway and approximately from Cannington railway station. Kenwick Railway Station
Kenwick railway station is located on the Transperth network. It is located on the Armadale Line, 15.8 kilometres from Perth Station serving the suburb of Kenwick. The station has been closed since 20 November 2023 as the Armadale line has been temporarily shut down for construction works. History Kenwick station opened in 1914. In 1982–83, the platforms were extended. The station closed on 31 March 2014 for a six-month upgrade. It reopened on 27 October 2014. Armadale Railway Station, Perth
Armadale railway station is a temporarily closed suburban and regional railway station, located on the South Western Railway 30 kilometres from Perth station serving the suburb of Armadale, Brookdale and Haynes. It was demolished in November 2023 as part of a project to rebuild the station on an elevated viaduct and extend the Armadale line to Byford. Before closure, it was the terminating point for Transperth Armadale line services and a calling point for Transwa ''Australind'' services. Perth Busport is an underground central bus station in Perth, Western Australia, located underneath Wellington Street. It was officially opened by then Premier of Western Australia Colin Barnett and then Minister for Transport Dean Nalder on 13 July 2016. Description Perth Busport is located underground, west of Perth railway station, between Wellington, Roe Street and Milligan streets. Roe Highway
Roe Highway is a limited-access highway and partial freeway in Perth, Western Australia, linking Kewdale with the city's north-eastern and south-western suburbs. The northern terminus is at Reid Highway and Great Northern Highway in Middle Swan, and the southern terminus is with Murdoch Drive at the Kwinana Freeway interchange in Bibra Lake. Roe Highway, in addition to Reid Highway, form State Route 3, a partial ring road around the outer suburbs of the Perth metropolitan area.
