Kennedy (TTC)
Kennedy is a Toronto subway station system that is the eastern terminus of Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. Opened in 1980, it is located east of the Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue intersection. With the adjacent Kennedy GO station on the Stouffville line of GO Transit, Kennedy is an intermodal transit hub and the fifth busiest station in the system, after , , , and , serving a total of approximately customer trips a day. It was built as part of the extensions west to Kipling and east to this station. The station's main complex has four floors with wheelchair accessible entrances. The ground level is the bus terminal surrounded by ten platforms that serve 16 Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) bus routes. Wi-Fi service is available at this station. Eglinton Avenue
Eglinton Avenue is a major east–west Arterial road, arterial thoroughfare in Toronto and Mississauga in the Canadian province of Ontario. The street begins at Ontario Highway 407, Highway 407 (but does not interchange with the tollway) at the western limits of Mississauga, as a continuation of Lower Baseline in Milton, Ontario, Milton. It traverses the midsection of both cities and ends at Kingston Road (Toronto), Kingston Road. Eglinton Avenue is the only street to cross all six former cities and boroughs of Metropolitan Toronto. The Toronto section was surveyed in the 19th century as the Fourth Concession Road (with the first being Queen Street, Toronto, Queen Street). Line 5 Eglinton
Line 5 Eglinton, also known as the Eglinton Crosstown LRT or the Crosstown, is a light rail transit line that is under construction in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that will be part of the Toronto subway system. Owned by Metrolinx and operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), the line was conceived in 2007 during the administration of Toronto mayor David Miller as part of Transit City, a large-scale transit expansion plan that included several light rail lines proposed across the city. While the plan was later dropped by successive municipal governments, only the Eglinton Crosstown LRT received support and funding from the Government of Ontario under premier Kathleen Wynne. Toronto Streetcar System
The Toronto streetcar system is a network of eleven tram, streetcar routes in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). It is the List of North American light rail systems by ridership, third busiest light-rail system in North America. The network is concentrated primarily in Downtown Toronto and in proximity to the city's Toronto waterfront, waterfront. Balloon Loop
A balloon loop, turning loop, or reversing loop ( North American Terminology) allows a rail vehicle or train to reverse direction without having to shunt or stop. Balloon loops can be useful for passenger trains and unit freight trains. Balloon loops are common on tram and streetcar systems. Many streetcar and tram systems use single-ended vehicles that have doors on only one side and controls at only one end. Warden Station
Warden is a station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the southeast corner of St. Clair Avenue East and Warden Avenue. The station is located perpendicular to St. Clair Avenue East, and is the only Line 2 station with a north–south alignment. The station opened in 1968 and was the eastern terminus of the line until 1980. Description The station building has three levels: the subway platform is on the upper floor, fare gates and the concourse are found above street level, and the pedestrian entrance is on the lower floor. With the closure of the original bus terminal for reconstruction, a temporary bus terminal has been set up in a former parking lot along Warden Avenue on the east side of the station.
