Kendriya Vidyalaya Kollam or KV Kollam is a central government owned Kendriya Vidyalaya school in Kollam. The school is located at Ramankulangara in the city. The school has set up in the year 2007 at Mulangadakam. KV Kollam was officially inaugurated on 6 August 2007 by P. Rajendran, the then MP of Kollam. History KV kollam was started in the year 2007 as per the sanction accorded by the Govt. of India in special focus district which have no Kendriya Vidyalaya and is inaugurated at Ramankulangara in the city by P. Rajendran, the then MP from Kollam Lok Sabha constituency, on 6 August 2007. In 2010, Kollam city Corporation has acquired four acres of private land at Ramankulangara in the city at a cost of Rs.1.35 crore for the school to have its own complex. Ramankulangara is a neighbourhood of Kollam city, India. It is 4 km away from Chinnakada and nearly 5 km from Kollam Junction Railway Station. Ramankulangara lies on the north side of the city. It is in Kavanad council of Kollam Municipal Corporation. Places of interest Most of the parts of Ramankulangara lies on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake. Quilon Aerodrome or Kollam Airport was an aerodrome in the city of Kollam in the former state of Travancore, now in Kerala, India. During the 1920s, there were no other civil aerodromes in the kingdoms of Cochin, Travancore and the Malabar District at the time of the British ruled Madras Presidency. With the commissioning of Trivandrum International Airport in 1932 at state capital to the south, the aerodrome fell into disuse and came to be known as the Asramam Maidan. The landing strip of the aerodrome was strengthened with red laterite soil from the adjoining hills because the local loose soil was unsuitable for the purpose. Tangasseri Bus Terminal or Tangasseri Bus Bay is a bus station in the city of Kollam, India. The bus terminal is opened on 6 September 2014 by Prasanna Earnest, the then Mayor of Kollam city. History The intention behind the bus terminal project was to cater the seaside enclave, Tangasseri, with a safe and comfortable way of transportation. Tangasseri witnesses heavy traffic congestion during the morning and evening peak hours because of the hundreds of vehicles reaching there to drop students to the two leading schools in the city, Infant Jesus School and Mount Carmel School.
