''Power Rangers Lost Galaxy'' is an American television series and the seventh season of the ''Power Rangers'' franchise, based on the ''Super Sentai'' series ''Seijuu Sentai Gingaman''. The series was written by Judd Lynn and aired for 45 episodes on Fox Kids from February 6 to December 18, 1999. Galaxy Power Rangers The Galaxy Power Rangers gain their powers through use of the Quasar Sabers - five ancient swords that were discovered on the planet Mirinoi. At the beginning of the series, the Quasar Sabers are pulled from a block of stone (mirroring the legend of Excalibur), thus highlighting the youths as the modern-day chosen wielders of the weapons (that is, with the exception of Leo Corbett, whose Saber is given to him by his brother Mike). ''Power Rangers Lost Galaxy'' is a tokusatsu television series and the seventh season of the ''Power Rangers'' franchise, based on the 22nd Super Sentai series ''Seijuu Sentai Gingaman''. The series was the first to follow the Sentai tradition of a new cast with each new series. Kendrix Morgan (Valerie Vernon), the first Pink Galaxy Ranger for this series, was killed off two-thirds through the season, marking the first time that a Ranger was killed off in the series. Kendrix was written out of the show as Vernon had left for a while to be cured for leukemia. Her treatment was successful and she returned for the season finale. Archie David Kao (born December 14, 1969) is an American actor and producer. He is best known to American audiences for series regulars roles on '' Chicago P.D.'', '' Power Rangers Lost Galaxy'' as well as long-running hit '' CSI: Crime Scene Investigation''. Early life Born in Washington, D.C., Kao grew up in the suburbs of Alexandria, Virginia. His parents are immigrants from Taiwan. While attending George Mason University, Kao joined the Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated with a degree in Speech Communication. As an undergraduate, Kao was elected Student Government President as well as the University's Homecoming King. He initially had plans to attend Law School and work in politics before becoming an actor. Kao also speaks and understands Mandarin Chinese because he grew up in a bilingual household with two younger sisters but is more comfortable speaking in English, especially in interviews.
