Yüreğir
Yüreğir () is a district-municipality of the Adana Province. It is the second most populated district of the province with a population of over 400 thousand, mostly concentrated on the east side of the Seyhan river, within the city of Adana. Many of the provincial institutions are located in Yüreğir, including the Provincial and Regional Courts of Justice, Health Directorate, Social Security Directorate and Agriculture Directorate. Yüreğir covers the area between the Seyhan River and the Ceyhan River, south of the Sarıçam and north of the Karataş districts. Yüreğir shares parts of Seyhan river with Seyhan district and parts of Ceyhan river with Yumurtalık district. Tahtacı () are a subgroup of ethnic Turkish people living mainly in the forested areas of Aegean Region, Aegean and Mediterranean Region, Turkey, Mediterranean regions of Turkey. Historically engaged in woodworking since Ottoman Empire, the Ottoman period, they trace their origins to the Oghuz Turks#Traditional tribal organization, Üçok Turkomans. Due to their Alevi faith, they often lived in secluded areas, preserving a unique blend of Tengrism, Shamanistic and Alevi-Bektashi traditions. Their cultural heritage is reflected in their craftsmanship, rituals, and way of life, which remain closely tied to nature.
