Abdullah Kayapınar
Abdullah Kayapınar (born 10 February 1992) is a Turkish Paralympian Paralympic powerlifting, para powerlifter who competes in the -49 kg division. He won the silver medal in the men's 49kg event at the 2024 Summer Paralympics held in Paris, France. Sport career Kayapınar met coach Semih Ceylan in 2014 while he was working as a waiter in a restaurant in his hometown Sivas. He started performing Paralympic powerlifting, para powerlifting with the encouragement of Ceylan. He competed at the 2019 World Para Powerlifting Championships in Astana, Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan, lifting 149 kg, which brought him the seventh place. He lifted 150 kg at the Powerlifting at the 2020 Summer Paralympics – Men's 49 kg, 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, and ranked fifth. He took the bronze medal with his lift of 173 kg at the 2023 World Para Powerlifting Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Hamdi Kayapınar
Hamdi Kayapınar (born 1979) is a Turkish serial killer who dubbed himself as "Avcı" ("The Hunter"). In his youth, he strangled his younger sibling to death. Later, he killed six other people, and was sentenced to life in prison. In 2017, after 16 years of imprisonment, he was released on probation. In 2018, he was arrested on charges of killing his eighth victim and pleaded guilty. Early life Hamdi Kayapınar was born in the Erenköy neighbourhood of the Melikgazi district in Kayseri Province, Turkey, in 1979. He had three siblings, and earned his livelihood by collecting scrap. In 2001, he was living with his mother and sister in a shack along the city water canal in Kayseri's Yıldırım Bayezıt neighbourhood. Kayapınar is municipality and district of Diyarbakır Province, Turkey. Its area is 480 km2, and its population is 419,513 (2022). It covers the northwestern part of the city of Diyarbakır and the adjacent countryside. The district Kayapınar was created in 2008 from part of the central district (''Merkez'') of Diyarbakır. In the local elections of 31 March 2019, Keziban Yılmaz was elected Mayor with 66.35% of the votes. On the 21 October 2019, he was detained due to an investigation concerning propaganda for a terror organization and being a member of a terror organization.
