Kay Khusraw
Kay Khosrow () is a legendary king of Iran of Kayanian dynasty and a character in the Persian epic book ''Shahnameh''. He was the son of the Iranian prince Siavash who married princess Farangis of Turan while in exile. Before Kay Khosrow was born, his father was murdered in Turan by his maternal grandfather Afrasiab. Kay Khosrow was trained as a child in the desert by Piran, the wise vizier of Afrasiab. His paternal grandfather was Kay Kāvus, the legendary Shah of Iran who chose him as his heir when he returned to Iran with his mother. The name Kay Khosrow derives from Avestan , meaning "seer/poet who has good fame". In Avesta In Avesta, Kay Khosrow has the epithet of , meaning "stallion of the Aryan lands". Giv or Gev () is a legendary Iranian knight and one of the main heroes in the New Persian epic poem of ''Shahnameh'' (Book of Kings), the national epic of Iran. A member of the House of Karen, he is the son of Goudarz, Godarz, brother of Roham and father of Bizhan (Shahnameh), Bizhan, as well as a descendant of Kaveh the Blacksmith. Giv also appears in another New Persian text, the ''Banu Goshasp-nama'', where he marries Banu Goshasp, the daughter of the mythological warrior Rostam. Sraosha ( or ; ), is the Avestan name of the Zoroastrian ''yazata'' of "Conscience" and "Observance", which is also the literal meaning of his name. In the Middle Persian commentaries of the 9th-12th centuries, the divinity appears as '', S(a)rosh''. This form appears in many variants in New Persian as well, for example , ''Sorūsh''. Piran e Viseh () is a Turan, Turanian figure in Shahnameh, the national epic of Greater Iran. Beside Shahnameh, Piran is also mentioned in other sources such as History of the Prophets and Kings, Tabari and Al-Tha'ālibī, Tha'ālibī. Saoshyant ( ) is an Avestan-language term that literally means "one who brings benefit", and which is used in several different ways in Zoroastrian scripture and tradition. In particular, the expression is the proper name of ''the'' Saoshyant, an eschatological saviour figure who brings about '' Frashokereti'', the final renovation of the world in which evil is finally destroyed.
