Kawana Waters, Queensland
Kawana Waters is an urban centre on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, between Caloundra and Maroochydore along the Coral Sea coast. It was originally the estate development name and has passed into common usage, but it is not officially a town nor a locality. The official suburbs (listed below) are connected by the Nicklin Way arterial road. It is sometimes abbreviated to Kawana, which is a suburb of Rockhampton. Many shopping and sporting facilities, including Kawana Shoppingworld are located in the Kawana Waters estate area. Geography Kawana Waters is a narrow urban area bounded roughly by Mooloolah River to the north and northwest, the ocean to the east and Currimundi Lake to the south. The Sunshine Coast is a peri-urbanisation, peri-urban region in South East Queensland, Australia. In 1967, it was defined as "the area contained in the [former] Shires of Shire of Landsborough, Landsborough, Shire of Maroochy, Maroochy and Shire of Noosa, Noosa, but excluding Bribie Island". Bokarina is a coastal Suburbs and localities (Australia), suburb in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia, located within the Kawana Waters, Queensland, Kawana Waters urban centre. In the , Bokarina had a population of 1,935 people. History The name ''Bokarina'' was bestowed at the request of the land developer, Alfred Grant Pty Ltd, in the belief that the name was an Aboriginal expression indicating ''middle'' i.e. half-way along the Kawana Waters land-development scheme in 1969. In the early 1980s, Bokarina emerged as Bokarina Beach, with an initial subdivision between the foreshore reserve and the sports complex on Nicklin Way. The Sunshine Coast Daily is an online newspaper specifically serving the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, Australia. It is owned by News Corp Australia. It was originally founded as a print newspaper, however since 2020 the publication is only available in digital forms. In 2008, the circulation of the ''Sunshine Coast Daily'' was 21,604 Monday to Friday and 34,716 on Saturday. In 2015, those figures were down to 12,200 Monday to Friday and just under 18,000 on Saturday. A live fire exercise (LFX) is a military exercise in which live ammunition and ordnance is used, as opposed to blanks or dummies. The term can also be found in non-military usage. Military Militaries usually use live-fire exercises as an opportunity to use real ammunition in a realistically created combat situation. The area in which these tests are conducted will be devoid of people to avoid casualties, and will likely be owned by the government that authorized the test. A wildflower (or wild flower) is a flower that grows in the wild, rather than being intentionally seeded or planted. Warana is a coastal suburb of Kawana Waters in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Warana had a population of 3,831 people. Geography Warana is located within the Kawana Waters urban centre. The western boundary of Warana follows the Mooloolah River and the middle of Wyuna Canal. A coastal reserve, which extends southwards into Bokarina and Wurtulla, has been established along the foreshore preventing beachfront development.
