Kaukajärvi (district)
Kaukajärvi is a district in Tampere, Finland. It is located between the Finnish national road 9, Highway 9 (European route E63, E63) and the three-kilometer-long Lake Kaukajärvi, where district gets its name. Description Construction of the Kaukajärvi suburb began in the 1960s, the first in the city. The Kaukajärvi statistical area had 12,326 inhabitants as of 2017. Finnish National Road 9
The Finnish national road 9 (, ) is a main route. It runs from Turku through Loimaa, Tampere, Jämsä, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Outokumpu and Joensuu to the Niirala border guard station in Tohmajärvi, right next to the Russian border. The length of the road is . Apart from the short section right near the center of Turku, highway 9 from Turku to Vuorela of Siilinjärvi is also part of the European route E63, which continues from Kuopio via Kajaani and Kuusamo to Sodankylä. In the case of Jyväskylä, the highway is known as the four-lane Vaajakoski Motorway (). Hervanta is a large suburb, or satellite city, of Tampere in Finland, located next to Hallila some 10 km south of the city centre.
