A Democrat, Wallace currently represents Colorado's 17th Senate district, which covers eastern Boulder County, southwestern Weld County, and northwestern Broomfield County. Colorado's 17th Senate district is one of 35 districts in the Colorado Senate. It was previously represented by Democrat Sonya Jaquez Lewis from 2021 until her resignation in 2025. Katie Wallace was selected to represent the district by vacancy committee in March 2025. Geography District 17 is based in eastern Boulder County, southwestern Weld County, and northwestern Broomfield County, covering Lafayette, Longmont, and Erie. Longmont is a home rule municipality located in Boulder and Weld counties, Colorado, United States. Its population was 98,885 . Longmont is located northeast of the county seat of Boulder. Joseph D. Neguse ( ; born May 13, 1984) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Colorado's 2nd congressional district since 2019. The district is based in Boulder and includes many of Denver's northwestern suburbs, as well as Fort Collins. Yadira D. Caraveo ( ; born December 23, 1980) is an American politician and pediatrician who served as the U.S. representative for from 2023 to 2025. A Democrat, she was Colorado's first Latina member of Congress. She represented the 31st district in the Colorado House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023.
