It is closely related to the Marwari horses of Rajasthan; both breeds have been influenced by imported Arab horses. It is found in all colours except for black, and is most commonly chestnut (coat colour), chestnut. In the past it was used as a war horse and cavalry mount. Today it is used for riding, in harness and for equestrian sport, sports; it may be used as a police horse and for the sport of tent-pegging. Kathi Caste
The Kāṭhī people are a small group of clans found in the peninsular Kathiawar (historically called Saurashtra) of Gujarat, western India. The Maratha Empire, and later the British Raj, renamed the Saurashtra as Kathiawar as the Kāṭhīs were prominent there during the 17th-18th centuries. History The sun-worshipping Kāṭhīs, who lent their name to the region of Kathiawar, are documented as serving under the Cūdāsamās during the eleventh century. Previously under the authority of the Sūmrās of Sind, they were compelled to escape Sindh and seek sanctuary with the Vālā chieftain in Saurashtra. During this era, the Kāṭhīs appeared to be marginalised, as the Vālā leader was reportedly ostracised from his caste after dining with them, leading to his deposition from kingship by his siblings. He subsequently allied himself with the Kāṭhī people to conquer various territories, including seizing the Than-Chotila area from the Soḍhās. Offspring of the ...

Kati Roll
A kati roll (sometimes spelt kathi roll; ) is a street-food dish originating from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. In its original form, it is a skewer-roasted kebab wrapped in a paratha bread, although over the years many variants have evolved all of which now go under the generic name of ''kati roll''. Today, mostly any wrap containing a filling enfolded in an Indian flatbread (roti) is called a ''kati roll''. In native Bengali, the word roughly translates to 'stick', referring to how they were originally made. In Bengal though, the delicacy is simply known as ''roll''. Kati rolls normally contain coriander chutney, egg, and chicken but the types may vary. History The kati roll is said to have started its life in the Nizam Restaurant in Kolkata, a popular Mughlai eatery founded in 1932 by one Raza Hassan Saheb. There are many stories about how exactly the roll got started. Some suggest that hurried office commuters wanted something quick and portable to eat; some mention Britis ...
