Katarina Krišto
Katarina Krišto (born 20 March 2002) is a Croatian judoka. She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics where she reached the semi-final. Career Krišto is a member of the Dalmacijacement judo club in Kaštel Sućurac, within the town of Kaštela in Dalmatia, Croatia. She has been coached consistently from a young age by Josip Barić, with their partnership being over ten years long by the time of the 2024 Olympic Games. She won a gold medal at the 2021 European Junior Judo Championships in 2021 She won a bronze medal at the 2021 World Judo Juniors Championships in Italy. In 2022, she had to overcome knee surgery but just two months later recorded a firth place at the World Junior Championships. Unfortunately, however, she suffered an elbow injury in the semi-finals of the championships, the rehabilitation from which took more than four months. Kaštel Sućurac
Kaštel Sućurac () is a Settlement (Croatia), settlement within the town of Kaštela in Dalmatia, Croatia. Kaštel Sućurac is the first of the 7 Kaštels from the East. Patron saint of the town is Saint George (Croatian: ''Sveti Jure''). History In Kaštel Sućurac the oldest defensive fortress was built in 1392 by A. Gvaldo, the Archbishop of Split, to protect the peasants from the settlement Putalj, which was situated on the slopes of Kozjak, near the little church of St. Juraj. Additional building formed a settlement by the sea. Archbishop Averaldo built his summer residence in 1488, and castle gets its final form in 1509. is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts ''ippon'' or ''waza-ari'' contest, usually judo, karate, or jujutsu. ''Waza-ari'' in judo A ''waza-ari'' is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in judo, the others formerly being a ''yuko (judo), yuko'' (advantage) and a ''koka''. An ''ippon'' would be the highest score that, once awarded, ends the match in favor of the athlete who scored it. The referee raises his arm laterally parallel to the ground to award ''waza-ari''. Its value is higher than any other sum or combination of lower scores. No matter how many ''yuko'' or ''koka'', when time runs out, a ''waza-ari'' still counts more.
