Karşıyaka Basket
Karşıyaka Basket is a Turkish professional basketball team located in Karşıyaka, İzmir, that competes in the Turkish Basketball Super League. It is a section of the multi-sport club Karşıyaka SK. The team also goes by the name of KSK, which stands for Karşıyaka Spor Kulübü (i.e. Karşıyaka Sport Club). History Karşıyaka SK was founded in 1912 and opened its basketball section in 1966. Karşıyaka Basket is considered to be one of the most important basketball teams in all of Turkey. They first played in the Turkish Basketball League in 1966. They relegated to lower divisions in 1968. The club also played in lower divisions from 1968 to 1974. The team is still participating in the Turkish Basketball League since 1974. Karşıyaka Basket was sponsored by Yaşar Holding's Food and Beverage Group; Pınar between 1998 and 2024. Basketbol Süper Ligi
The Basketball Super League (; TBSL), also known as the Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's professional basketball division of the Turkish basketball league system. It replaced the former Turkish Basketball Championship (1946–1967) to become the Turkish Basketball League (TBL) until 2015 when it adopted its current name while the TBL name became exclusive to the Turkish Basketball First League, second-tier and Turkish Basketball Second League, third-tier divisions. The BSL is administered by the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) and is contested by 16 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams promotion and relegation, relegated to the second-tier TBL and replaced by the top two teams of that division. 2015–16 Euroleague
The 2015–16 Turkish Airlines Euroleague was the 16th season of the modern era of Euroleague Basketball and the sixth under the title sponsorship of the Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this was the 59th season of the premier competition for European men's professional basketball clubs. The 2016 Euroleague Final was played between CSKA Moscow and Fenerbahçe at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany. CSKA Moscow defeated Fenerbahçe 101–96 on extra time in the final to win their seventh European Cup/Euroleague title. Efe Aydan
Ahmet Efe Aydan (born May 4, 1955 in Ankara, Turkey) is a Turkish former professional basketball player. He is regarded by many as the best Turkish basketball player ever, with a total of 224 caps with the senior Turkish national team. He was Turkey's national team captain in 89 games, and he scored 2,195 points with the senior Turkish national team. The 2020–21 Basketball Champions League was the 5th season of the Basketball Champions League (BCL), the premier European-wide professional basketball competition for clubs launched and managed by FIBA.
