Karol Ząbik
Karol Ząbik (born October 25, 1986, in Toruń, Poland) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He was the 2006 2006 Speedway Under-21 World Championship, U21 World champion. Career In 2006, Ząbik won the 2006 Speedway Under-21 World Championship, Under-21 World Championship, which was held at the Pista Olimpia Terenzano in Italy. He has also won European Under-21 Individual Speedway Championship, European and Individual Speedway Junior Polish Championship, Polish Under-21 titles and has ridden for the Poland speedway team, Polish national junior team. Ząbik raced in the United Kingdom from 2006 to 2008, riding for Peterborough Panthers and Poole Pirates. He was replaced in the Peterborough team by Dane René Bach, at the start of the 2009 season. Family His father, Jan Ząbik was also a speedway rider, and is now the team manager of Polish speedway club KS Toruń. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four clockwise, anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of soil, dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to . René Bach
René Bach (born 7 June 1990, in Hjordkær, Rødekro) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career He was a member of the Denmark U-21 national team. He started his British leagues career in 2009, joining the Newcastle Diamonds for the 2009 Premier League speedway season. The following season he recorded a 9.42 average for the Diamonds. After a short spell at Peterborough he signed for the Workington Comets and in 2012, he won the Premier League Pairs Championship partnering Adam Roynon for Workington during the 2012 Premier League speedway season. He would spend three more seasons with the club from 2013 to 2015. Bach had a season in Scotland with Glasgow Tigers in 2016 before returning for one final season with Workington in 2018. Poland Speedway Team
The Poland national speedway team is the national motorcycle speedway team of Poland and is controlled by the Polish Motor Union ( PZM). They are one of the most successful speedway nations of all time. History The Polish speedway team participated in the inaugural Speedway World Team Cup, being seeded through to the final of the 1960 Speedway World Team Cup. The team were a major force in the opening decade of the tournament, winning the World Team Cup in 1961, 1965, 1966 and 1969, with only the Swedish team winning more World Cups. In the 1970s, the team continued to be one of the major forces in Eastern Europe and qualified for the World Team Cup final every year from 1970 to 1979.
