Karl Geiger
Karl Geiger (born 11 February 1993) is a German Ski jumping, ski jumper who has competed at FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, World Cup level since 2012. He won gold medals in both the team and mixed team competitions at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2021, 2021 Nordic World Ski Championships and an individual gold medal at the FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2021, 2021 Ski Flying World Championships. Geiger represented Germany at the 2018 Winter Olympics, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. In the World Cup, he finished runner-up in the 2019–20 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, 2019–2020 and 2021–22 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, 2021–2022 seasons. Toni-Seelos-Olympiaschanze
Toni-Seelos-Olympiaschanze is a ski jumping hill in Seefeld outside of Innsbruck, Austria. It is a part of the Seefeld Nordic Competence Centre consisting of two hills, a normal hill with a hill size of HS109 ( K-99) and medium hill with at HS75 (K-68). Next to the jumps is a cross-country skiing stadium. It opened in 1931 as Jahnschanze, but was renamed in honor of Anton Seelos in 1948. The venue was used for the normal hill competitions during the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, and for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1985 and 2019. FIS Ski Flying World Championships
The FIS Ski Flying World Championships is a ski flying event organised by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 1972 and held every two years. Overview The event takes place on hills much larger than ski jumping hills, with the K-point set between and . Unlike ordinary ski jumping, the Ski Flying World Champion is determined after four jumps which take place over two days. 40 jumpers qualify for the competition and jump the first round, 10 are eliminated, and the 30 remaining jumpers compete in the last three rounds. The person with most points combined after four jumps is declared the World Champion. In 2004, the FIS introduced a team event between national teams of four jumpers, with two jumps each. Ski Flying
Ski flying is a winter sport discipline derived from ski jumping, in which much greater distances can be achieved. It is a form of competitive individual sport, individual Nordic skiing where athletes descend at high speed along a specially designed takeoff ramp using skis only; jump from the end of it with as much power as they can generate; then gliding flight, glide – or 'fly' – as far as possible down a ski jumping hill, steeply sloped hill; and ultimately land within a target zone in a stable manner.
