Kansasville is an unincorporated community in Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. The area is a part of the Town of Dover. The area has also been referred to as Brighton or Eagle Lake, Wisconsin. History The origin for the name of the area is uncertain; some sources claim it was named after the Kansas-Nebraska Act, while others claim it was named in honor of area settlers from Kansas. Another belief is that it was named after the railroad system in town which used to operate from Wisconsin to Kansas. Education The community is served by the Dover School District, a district with only one school, Kansasville Grade School. After grade school, which covers Kindergarten to eighth grade, students are served by Union Grove Union High School, the sole school in the Union Grove Union High School District, or by Burlington High School, in the Burlington School District. Eagle Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Dover, Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,251 at the 2020 census. Geography Eagle Lake is located at (42.697369, -88.133741). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.0 square miles (7.8 km2), of which, 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2) of it is land and 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2) of it (27.00%) is water Racine County's Eagle Lake Park is located on the north side of the lake. The park's entrance is found on Church Road, approximately one quarter of a mile west of Wisconsin Highway 75. Richard Bong State Recreation Area
Richard Bong State Recreation Area is a unit of the state park system of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is located in the town of Brighton, in Kenosha County. This managed prairie contains of mountain bike trails. Other recreational activities include high power rocketry, swimming, dogsledding, falconry, ATV sports, land sailing, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, camping with amenities, and ultralight aviation. There is a wildlife preserve where great egrets, sandhill cranes, and great blue herons are known to nest. The Richard Bong SRA is one of the centerpieces of the proposed Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge.
