Taheri Rural District
Taheri Rural District () is in Siraf District of Kangan County, Bushehr province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Parak. The previous capital of the rural district was the village of Taheri, now the city of Bandar Siraf. Demographics Population At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of the Central District) was 3,886 in 810 households. There were 8,320 inhabitants in 1,524 households at the following census of 2011. The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 23,138 in 2,080 households. Asaluyeh
Asaluyeh () is a city in the Central District of Asaluyeh County, Bushehr province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. It is also the administrative center for Asaluyeh Rural District. Demographics Population At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 4,746 in 875 households, when it was capital of the former Asaluyeh District in Kangan County. The following census in 2011 counted 7,884 people in 1,709 households. Bandar-e Shirinu () is a city in Siraf District of Kangan County, Bushehr province, Iran. As a village, it served as the capital of Shirinu Rural District until its capital was transferred to the village of Lavardeh. It is located near the Persian Gulf and is surrounded by the Zagros Mountains to the north. The city is part of the South Pars gas field area, featuring significant oil and gas industries around it. Etymology The name "Shirinu" is associated with the ancient port of Thalath, recognized historically during the Safavid period, as well as being known for three golden palm trees that produced exceptionally sweet dates. Bandar Siraf
Bandar Siraf () is a city in, and the capital of, Siraf District in Kangan County, Bushehr province, Iran. As the village of Taheri, it was the capital of Taheri Rural District until its capital was transferred to the village of Parak. According to legend, Siraf was an ancient Sassanid port, destroyed around 970 CE, which was located on the north shore of the Persian Gulf in what is now the Iranian province of Bushehr. Its ruins are approximately 220 km east of Bushire, 30 km east from Kangan city, and 380 km west of Bandar Abbas. Siraf controlled three ports: Bandar-e-Taheri, Bandar-e-Kangan and Bandar-e-Dayer. The Persian Gulf was used as a shipping route between the Arabian Peninsula and India over the Arabian Sea.
