Shōkawa, Gifu
was a village located in Ōno District, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. As of 2003, the village had an estimated population of 1,359 and a population density of 4.20 persons per km2. The total area was 323.28 km2. Ōno District, Gifu
is a Districts of Japan, district located in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The district is in a mountainous region near the geographic centre of Japan. Prior to February 1, 2005, the district comprised seven small communities, but on that day six of them merged into the expanded city of Takayama, Gifu, Takayama. Ōno district now contains only the village of Shirakawa, which is declining to merge with any municipality.
