Kamila Urzędowska
Kamila Urzędowska (born 7 January 1994) is a Polish actress who is best known for her role as Jagna in ''The Peasants''. Biography Urzędowska was born in Nysa, where she attended Secondary School No. 2. In 2020, she graduated from the Wrocław branch of AST National Academy of Theatre Arts. She played minor roles, including the series ''Żmijowisko'' and '' L for Love''. A breakthrough in her career came with the role of Jagna in the 2023 film ''The Peasants'', for which she was awarded the ELLE Crystal Star at the festival in Gdynia. Nysa, Poland
Nysa ( or ''Neiße'') is a city in southern Poland on the Eastern Neisse ( Polish: ''Nysa Kłodzka'') river, situated in the Opole Voivodeship. With 43,849 inhabitants (2019), it is the capital of Nysa County. It comprises the urban portion of the surrounding Gmina Nysa. Historically the city was part of Upper Silesia. The Doll (Prus Novel)
''The Doll'' () is the second of four acclaimed novels by the Polish writer Bolesław Prus (real name Aleksander Głowacki). It was composed for periodical serialization in 1887–1889 and appeared in book form in 1890. ''The Doll'' has been regarded by some, including Nobel laureate Czesław Miłosz, as the greatest Polish novel. According to Prus biographer Zygmunt Szweykowski, it may be unique in 19th-century world literature as a comprehensive, compelling picture of an entire society. However, Aleksander Świętochowski was quite critical about the work, claiming that Bolesław Prus couldn't create interesting characters. Aleksander Głowacki (20 August 1847 – 19 May 1912), better known by his pen name Bolesław Prus (), was a Polish journalist, novelist, a leading figure in the history of Polish literature and philosophy, and a distinctive voice in world literature. Aged 15, Aleksander Głowacki joined the Polish 1863 Uprising against Imperial Russia. Shortly after his 16th birthday, he suffered severe battle injuries. Five months later, he was imprisoned.
