Mahalle
is an Arabic word variously translated as district, quarter, ward, or neighborhood in many parts of the Arab world, the Balkans, Western Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and nearby nations. History Historically, mahallas were autonomous social institutions built around familial ties and Islamic rituals. Horasan
Horasan (), is a municipality and district of Erzurum Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,740 km2, and its population is 36,519 (2022). The mayor is Hayrettin Özdemir ( AKP). Horasan is located in the east of Erzurum Province, and borders the provinces of Ağrı and Kars. Etymology Horasan is also one of the spellings of the Khorasan (or Greater Khorasan), which is a region in north east Iran with historical importance, and it is also the source of the name of the town as the first settlers of the town migrated from this region.
