KUTX (98.9 FM) is a non-commercial radio station licensed to Leander, Texas and serving the greater Austin, Texas area with an adult album alternative format. The station is owned by University of Texas at Austin with headquarters at the Belo Center for New Media (A0704) on the University of Texas at Austin campus. History 98.9 signed on in 1988 on 99.1 MHz as KLTD, "Kool 99 FM" with the Satellite Music Network's " Kool Gold" format by Adams Broadcasting, which eventually spun off the Kool Gold format to Dial Global. On July 3, 1993, KLTD changed calls to KUTZ and format to hard rock as part of the Satellite Music Network- Z Rock Network. KXXS
KVLR (92.5 MHz) is a non-commercial FM radio station licensed to Sunset Valley, Texas, and serving the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. It is owned by the Educational Media Foundation as the Austin affiliate for EMF's Air1 radio network, airing its Christian Worship music format. It does not carry commercials, instead making on-air appeals for contributions. The station also has two translators at 92.1 FM in Austin and 92.9 FM in Del Valle. KVRX (91.7 FM) is a student-run radio station owned by the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, with an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts. KVRX's studios are based in the Hearst Student Media Building on the university campus, while its transmitter is located in East Austin. The university shares the license for 91.7 with KOOP, a community radio station based in Austin. Students broadcast on KVRX from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. KOOP, operated by Texas Educational Broadcasting Cooperative, covers the remainder of the weekly schedule with programs hosted by community volunteers. True Oldies Channel
Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel (also known more recently as ''The True Oldies Channel: Greatest Hits'') is a radio network begun in the spring of 2004. Originally distributed by ABC Radio Networks via satellite, the service plays a hybrid oldies/ classic hits format comprising music mostly from 1964 to 1979 but also plays selected cuts from the 1955-1963 era and also from the 1980s. As of September 22, 2016, it was distributed via United Stations Radio Networks. Since September 2023 it is distributed by Local Radio Networks. Prior to June 30, 2014; the service had over 100 affiliate stations across the United States. The service is available 24 hours a day online. The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston. ''The Mark Levin Show'' is a conservative talk radio show hosted by Mark Levin. History Levin began his career as a radio host in 2002 in a Sunday afternoon timeslot on WABC. WABC assigned Levin to fill in starting on June 16, 2003, after the station dropped '' The Savage Nation'' for the 6–8 pm.time period weeknights. On September 2, 2003, his show moved to the 6–8 p.m. timeslot on WABC. Levin's WABC program expanded to 2 hours starting May 17, 2004.
