KM Nurul Huda
Khan Mohammad Nurul Huda (born 1948) is a retired secretary of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and served as the Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh from 2017 to 2022. He was a freedom fighter during the Bangladesh Liberation War. He is a former chief executive officer of Dhaka City Corporation. He also served as joint secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Forests and additional secretary to the Secretariat of Bangladeshi Parliament. Early life and education Khan Mohammad Nurul Huda was born in 1948 at Nowmala, Bauphal Upazila in Patuakhali district. Huda completed his schooling in Patuakhali. He obtained his graduation and master's in Statistics from the University of Dhaka. Huda also studied Public Administration and Advanced Studies at the University of Manchester, and pursued further studies in the then Soviet Union. The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) () heads the Election Commission of Bangladesh, a body constitutionally empowered to conduct free and fair elections. Appointment and removal The appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh and other Election Commissioners (if any) is made by the President. Under the Constitution the term of office of any Election Commissioner is five years from the date on which he enters upon office. Khan (, , ) is a historic Turkic peoples, Turkic and Proto-Mongols, Mongolic title originating among nomadic tribes in the Eurasian Steppe#Divisions, Central and Eastern Eurasian Steppe to refer to a king. Mahbub Talukdar
Mahbub Talukdar (13 February 1942 – 24 August 2022) was a Bangladeshi poet, writer, civil servant, and one of the Election Commissioners of Bangladesh. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2012 for his contribution in juvenile literature. He was a Freedom Fighter and joined the exiled government in 1971. Early life Talukdar was born on 13 February 1942 at Purbadhala Upazila in Netrokona District of the then British Raj. He completed his Secondary School Certificate from Nawabpur Government High School and Higher Secondary School Certificate from Dhaka College. He obtained his graduation and post graduation degree from the University of Dhaka in Bengali language and literature. Career Talukdar started his career as teacher at University of Chittagong where he taught Bengali language and literature from 1968 to 1970.
