KMSR (1520 AM) is a radio station in Mayville, North Dakota, licensed to Northwood, serving the Red River Valley of eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Formerly known as "Sports Radio 1520", KMSR rebranded as "99KMSR" upon launching an FM translator in late 2020. KMSR 1520 AM is on the air in the daytime only, so it signs off at sunset, and signs on again at sunrise. Its translator, K255DG, operates 24 hours a day on 98.9 FM. KMAV-FM (105.5 FM) is a radio station in Mayville, North Dakota, serving the Red River Valley of eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota with a country music format on weekdays and oldies format on weekends. KMAV is known as "Your Sports Leader in the Red River Valley" in reference of their coverage of local high school sport events. Programming Notable programming includes hourly updates from CBS News and periodic updates from the Dakota News Network and Red River Farm Network. During the school year, the station features "Comet Radio" which consists of different shows from students and staff from Mayville's local college, Mayville State University. Mayville is a city in Traill County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 1,854 at the 2020 census. which makes Mayville the largest community in Traill County. Mayville was founded in 1881. The city's name remembers May Arnold, the first white child born in the immediate area. Mayville is often grouped with the neighboring city of Portland. Northwood is a city in Grand Forks County, North Dakota, United States. It is part of the " Grand Forks, ND- MN Metropolitan Statistical Area" or " Greater Grand Forks." The population was 982 at the 2020 census. History Northwood was founded in 1884. Sports USA Media is the largest independent sports broadcasting radio network in the United States, specializing in live broadcasts of American football, specifically of the NCAA football Division I-A and National Football League.
