KK Šentjur
Košarkarski klub Šentjur ( en, Šentjur Basketball Club), commonly referred to as KK Šentjur or simply Šentjur, is a basketball team based in Šentjur, Slovenia. The team currently competes in the Premier A Slovenian League. History The club was founded in 1969 as a basketball section of TVD Partizan. In the 2014–15 season, Šentjur won its first domestic title. Despite being ranked only fifth in the regular season, Šentjur upset Krka in the semifinals and beat Rogaška 3–1 in the finals. Premier A Slovenian Basketball League
The Premier A Slovenian Basketball League ( sl, 1. slovenska košarkarska liga), abbreviated as 1. SKL and known as the Liga Nova KBM due to sponsorship reasons, is the top-level professional men's basketball league in Slovenia. The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, consists of eleven clubs. The most successful team is KK Cedevita Olimpija, Cedevita Olimpija with 19 titles. Šentjur
Šentjur ( or ; german: Sankt Georgen) is a town in eastern Slovenia. It is the seat, and largest settlement, of the Municipality of Šentjur. The town lies on the Voglajna River east southeast of Celje. The settlement, and the entire municipality, are included in the Savinja Statistical Region, which is in the Slovenian portion of the historical Duchy of Styria. Name The name of the settlement was changed from ''Sveti Jurij pri Celju'' (literally, 'Saint George near Celje') to ''Šentjur pri Celju'' in 1952. The town was renamed again from ''Šentjur pri Celju'' to ''Šentjur'' in 1990. Damjan Novaković
Damjan Novaković (born 30 September 1966) is a Slovenian basketball coach and former player. He currently serves as a head coach for the Rogaška of the Slovenian Basketball League and the Adriatic Second League. Playing career Novaković started to play basketball for his hometown team Lokomotiva. Later, he also played for Borac Banja Luka and Široki Brijeg. In 1991, Novaković moved to Rogaška Slatina, Slovenia. There he played 1st-tyer Slovenian League for the Rogaška Donat MG, Šentjur and Zagorje from Zagorje ob Savi. Coaching career After retiring from basketball as a player in 2005, Novaković became head coach for Šentjur, coaching them for the 2005–06 and 2006–07 season. During 2007–08 season, he coached Pivovarna Laško. For the 2008–09 season, he moved back to Šentjur and coached them until the end of 2012–13 season. The 2014–15 Slovenian Basketball League, also known as the 2014–15 Telemach League due to sponsorship reasons, was the 24th season of the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in Slovenia. Tajfun won its first title, by defeating Rogaška 3–1 in the finals. Košarkarski klub Krka (English: Basketball Club Krka), commonly referred to as KK Krka or simply Krka, is a professional basketball team based in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. The team competes in the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League and the ABA League Second Division. Krka play their home games at Leon Štukelj Hall. The club is a founding member and shareholder of the Adriatic Basketball Association. History 1948–2002 The first basketball club in Novo Mesto was founded in 1948.
