KDOT (FM)
KDOT (104.5 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station located in Reno, Nevada. KDOT airs an active rock music format. Its studios are located on Plumb Lane in South Reno, and its transmitter is located on Slide Mountain. History KSRN ("Know Stereo Radio Nevada") began broadcasting in October 1966. It was the second commercial FM station in Reno. The station was KSRN until flipping to country as KIIQ in 1987. Steve Funk was the first program director of KDOT-FM while Rob Williams acted as the operations manager for all of the stations within the Lotus Reno building. Over the first year, some changes in the lineup occurred, the largest being Steve Funk moving to afternoons and Rob Williams taking over the morning drive shift (a slot he had previously done under "KHIT-FM"). KSLX-FM is a classic rock radio station serving the Phoenix, Arizona, area. The Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. outlet broadcasts at 100.7 MHz with an ERP of 100 kW and is licensed to Scottsdale, Arizona. KSLX simulcasts in digital HD Radio. Its studios are located on North 52nd Street west of Papago Park and its transmitter is in South Mountain Park. KZTQ (1230 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Reno, Nevada. The station is owned by Americom Limited Partnership. The station airs an alternative rock format known as "96.1 The Zone", after its translator in Reno on 96.1 FM. The station's studios are located on Matley Lane in East Reno, and its transmitter is located near Veterans Parkway in Reno, just south of the Truckee River and the Sparks city limits. History The station signed on the air in 1947 with 250 watts using call sign KWRN. It was initially owned by Reno Newspapers, Incorporated and broadcast on 1490 kHz with 250 W power. This station was acquired by Kenyon Brown in 1950; Brown moved it to 1230 kHz two years later.
