KCOL-FM
KCOL-FM (92.5 FM, "Cool 92.5") is an American radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to the suburb of Groves, Texas, it serves the Beaumont-Port Arthur metropolitan area. Its studios are located south of Dowlen near Parkdale Mall in Beaumont, and its transmitter is located in Bridge City, Texas. History Voice in the Wilderness Broadcasting was granted a construction permit to build a 3 kilowatt Class A radio facility on 92.1 MHz in 1983. The permit was assigned the call sign KTFA on June 27, 1983. KTFA was upgraded to the current 50 kilowatt C2 class in 1990, which involved a change in frequency to 92.5, so as not to interfere with KRTS in the Houston area. The station has had only two owners in its lifetime, having been proposed, built, and initially licensed to Voice in the Wilderness, and currently owned by iHeartMedia, Inc.KCOL

Port Arthur, Texas
Port Arthur is a city in the state of Texas, United States of America, located east of metro Houston. Part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur metropolitan area, the city lies primarily in Jefferson County, with a small extension in Orange County. The largest oil refinery in the US, the Motiva Refinery, is located in Port Arthur. The population was 53,818 at the 2010 census, down from 57,755 at the 2000 census. In 2020, its population was 56,039. In the 19th century, initial attempts to settle the area had all failed, mostly. However, in 1895, Arthur Stilwell founded Port Arthur, and the town quickly grew, being incorporated as a city in 1898. KYKR (95.1 FM, "Kicker 95.1") is a radio station broadcasting a Country format. Licensed to Beaumont, Texas, it serves the Beaumont/ Port Arthur metropolitan area, owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The "Kicker" branding and country format were first broadcast on 93.3 FM (now KQBU-FM) under the current call sign in 1980, owned and operated by Steve Hicks. Its studios are located southeast of the I-10/ US 69 interchange in Beaumont, and its transmitter is located in Vidor, Texas. KIOC (106.1 FM) is a mainstream rock–formatted radio station in Beaumont, Texas. It serves the entire Golden Triangle region and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. Its studios are located southeast of the I-10– US 69 interchange in Beaumont, and its transmitter is located in Vidor, Texas. History The Birth of "K106" KIOC was founded by Ken Stevens. The facility was built in 1977 and signed on over the air June 23, 1978, as "K106". Programming was the Drake Chenault CHR / Top40 format before moving to adult contemporary in the early 80s.
