K.D. (film)
''K.D.'' (also known as ''KD Engira Karuppudurai'' or simply ''Karuppudurai''), is a 2019 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language comedy drama film written and directed by Madhumitha (director), Madhumita and produced by Yoodlee films, Yoodlee Films, a production venture of Saregama India Limited. The film stars Mu Ramaswamy and Naga Vishal. The music was composed by Karthikeya Murthy. Nagavishal won Best Child Actor National Award in 2021 and Best Actor Award at the Jagran Film Festival 2019. Madhumitha (director), Madhumita was awarded the Best Director at the UK Asian Film Festival 2019. ''K.D.'' released worldwide on 22 November 2019. Madhumitha (director)
Madhumitha is a Tamil film director. Career Madhumita was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and grew up in Indonesia. She later moved to Singapore for college and did her master's degree in Los Angeles, US. During her stay in Singapore she made several short films, one of which won the best of the world category in BBC and she was honoured with the Singapore Student Award. In USA, she briefly worked with the '' Pirates of the Caribbean'' team before returning to Chennai to become a film director. Her debut film was the romantic drama ''Vallamai Tharayo'' starring R. Parthipan and Chaya Singh. In spite of mixed reviews, with Sify calling her direction "amateurish", the film completed a 100 days-run at the box office and won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Family Film in 2008. The 67th National Film Awards were announced at a press meet on 22 March 2021 to honour the best Indian films certified in India between 1 January and 31 December 2019. The awards ceremony, at which the Directorate of Film Festivals presents its annual National Film Awards to honour the best in Indian cinema, was originally slated to be held on 3 May 2020. It was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was presented on 25 October 2021. Anupama Vinod Chopra () is an Indian author, journalist and film critic who served as the festival director of the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival from 2015 to 2023. Baradwaj Rangan () is an Indian film critic and writer. A chemical engineering graduate with no formal training in filmmaking or cinema writing, he has a diverse career in advertising, IT consulting, and cinema writing. He has authored two books on Indian cinema, written for ''The New Indian Express'', ''The Hindu'', and ''Tehelka'', and has also been a screenwriter. ''Ananda Vikatan'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. History ''Ananda Vikatan'' was started by Late Pudhoor Vaidyanadhaiyar in February 1926 as a monthly publication. The issue for December 1927 was not published due to financial difficulties.
