Kätlin Kaldmaa
Kätlin Kaldmaa (born August 30, 1970) is an Estonian freelance writer, poet, translator and literary critic. Since 2010, Kaldmaa is the president of the Estonian PEN. In 2016 she was elected Secretary of the PEN International. Early life and education Kätlin Kaldmaa was born August 30, 1970, and grew up in Voore, in Jõgeva County. She was the second child of four. Her parents were veterinary technicians. Books have had an important role in Kaldmaa’s life since childhood, when reading and writing them became her favourite pastime. At 18, she moved to Tartu, where she studied Estonian philology at Tartu University. Later, she graduated in English philology from Tallinn University. Kätlin Aas (; , born 26 December 1992) is an Estonian fashion model. Career Aas was scouted at age fourteen while dancing with an ensemble at a summer music festival in Tallinn by a representative for an Estonian modeling agency. Aas initially declined the offer, but took the representative's business card home with her and showed it to her parents, who suggested she try modeling. Accompanied by her parents, Aas went to the agency and a short time later signed a contract. Aas made her London modeling debut in 2009, first opening the show for Christopher Kane, then opening and also closing for Prada, and then in Paris, exclusively modeling for Miu Miu. Kätlin Vainola (born 30 September 1978 in Tallinn) is a contemporary Estonians, Estonian Children’s author, children’s writer and poet. She sometimes uses the pen name Marie Myrk. Biography Born in Tallinn, she spent her earliest years in the subdistrict of Kopli before the family moved to Põlva. The family later returned to Tallinn where she graduated from secondary school at the Pääsküla Gymnasium. Vainola graduated from Tallinn University in Estonian philology in 2002 and has worked as a teacher, project manager, and editor and has written lyrics for the bands Vennaskond and Sõpruse Puiestee.
