José María Cárdenas
José Maria Cárdenas López (born 2 April 1985) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Cárdenas received his first call-up to the Mexico national team in a friendly against Bolivia, scoring his first goal as well in a 5–1 victory. He was also called up to play the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament with Mexico. Club career Atlante He made his Primera División debut with Atlante on August 24, 2005 in a 2–2 draw against San Luis during the 2005 Apertura tournament. During that season, he only amassed 9 league matches, scoring no goals. During the 2006 Clausura, José María played in all 17 league matches, helping Atlante reach the play-offs. Although part of the team, Cárdenas was not able to play a part in Atlante's 2007 Apertura championship campaign, winning in the final against UNAM. 2009 Gold Cup
The 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the tenth edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup competition, and the twentieth soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). It was played from July 3 to 26, 2009 in the United States. This competition was the fourth tournament without guests from other confederations. The 2013–14 Liga MX season (known as the Liga BBVA Bancomer MX for sponsorship reasons) was the 67th professional top-flight football league season in Mexico. The season was split into two competitions: the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura; each of identical format and contested by the same eighteen teams. Copa MX
The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the 12th CONCACAF Gold Cup competition and the 22nd CONCACAF regional championship overall in CONCACAF's fifty years of existence. The United States was the host nation. The competition began on 7 July 2013 at the Rose Bowl, and ended with the final on 28 July 2013 at Soldier Field, with the United States defeating Panama 1–0. In this edition of the Gold Cup, Mexico participated with an alternative squad due to the main players competing at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup prior to the Gold Cup. The Georgia Dome was a domed stadium in the Southeastern United States.
