Adrian Johns
Vice Admiral Sir Adrian James Johns, (born 1 September 1951) is a former senior officer in the Royal Navy, serving as Second Sea Lord between 2005 and 2008. He was the Governor of Gibraltar between 2009 and 2013. Early life and education Johns was born on 1 September 1951. He was educated at Newquay Grammar School in Cornwall and then Imperial College London, where he studied physics. Naval career Johns joined the Royal Navy in 1973. On 1 September 1975, he was promoted to lieutenant, with seniority from 1 January 1975. After his initial postings, Johns trained as a helicopter pilot and then served as a Westland Sea King pilot with 824 Naval Air Squadron aboard HMS ''Ark Royal''. David Johns (born 1948) is a Navajo painter from the Seba Dalkai, Arizona, United States. Background He was born in Winslow, Arizona, United States. As a child, Johns spent many hours with his grandmother herding sheep through their land. During these years, she taught him how to respect and care for the land, plants and animals who enable the Navajo to live, and told him many of the stories that explain how the Navajo came to be and where his parents clans originated. Johns received formal training in fine arts from Northern Arizona University, earning a bachelor's degree in 1982. Harold Gene Johns (October 6, 1927 – August 11, 1984) was an American politician and Democratic member of the Illinois Senate. Early life and career Johns was born in Carrier Mills, Illinois October 6, 1927 to Columbus Johns, an employee of the Sahara Coal Company, and Mabel Johns, a homemaker.
