Addison Graves "Joe" Wilson Sr. (born July 31, 1947) is an American politician and attorney serving as the United States House of Representatives, U.S. representative for since 2001. A member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party, his district stretches from Columbia, South Carolina, Columbia to the Georgia–South Carolina border. He served as the South Carolina Senate, South Carolina state senator from the 23rd district from 1985 to 2001. South Carolina Senate
The South Carolina Senate is the upper house of the South Carolina General Assembly, the lower house being the South Carolina House of Representatives. It consists of 46 senators elected from single member districts for four-year terms at the same time as United States presidential elections. The South Carolina Constitution of 1895 provided for each county to elect one senator for a four-year term. The school of law was founded in 1867, and remains the only public and non-profit law school in the state of South Carolina.
