Jerrika Hinton is an American actress, best known for her role as Stephanie Edwards (Grey's Anatomy), Stephanie Edwards in the ABC medical drama series ''Grey's Anatomy''. Early life Hinton was born and raised in Oak Cliff, Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Cynthia, a retired government worker, and Avaleon Hinton. She graduated in 2002 with honors from Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts with a bachelor of fine arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre, studying directing and playwriting. Alan Erwin Ball (born May 13, 1957) is an American writer, director, and producer for television, film, and theater. Ball wrote the screenplay for '' American Beauty,'' for which he earned an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
