Jeebropilly Mine
The Jeebropilly Mine is an open-pit mining, open pit coal mine in the Moreton Basin near Amberley, Queensland, Amberley in South East Queensland. The mine is owned by New Hope Coal. The mine ceased operations after 25 years of extraction in February 2007. The mine's closure left one operating mine in Ipswich. To offset the loss of production from Jeebropilly Mine, New Hope expanded mining at the New Acland Mine. The coal-washing plant at Jeebropilly continued to operate so that coal from New Oakleigh Mine could be processed. The mine was recommissioned in 2008 due to high export prices for coal. Amberley is a suburb in the City of Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. In the , Amberley had a population of 253 people. New Acland Mine
The New Acland Mine is located adjacent to Acland township, about 10 km north of Oakey on the Darling Downs in Queensland, Australia. Geologically it is part of the Wallon Coal Measures and contains more than 500 million tonnes of coal that is removed by the open cut method. The mine is owned and operated by New Hope Coal. As of Monday, September 2, 2019, the mine has become mothballed due to extension applications being denied. A stockpile will require trains to run for a little while longer, roughly twelve months. The New Oakleigh Mine was a thermal coal mine in the Moreton Basin. The mine was located north of Rosewood in South East Queensland, Australia. It was one of two operating mines in an area with a rich coal mining history. Thermal coal was extracted from the open pit by trucks, excavators and front-end loaders. Mining operations began at the site in 1948. New Hope Coal the owners of the mine, were to cease operations sometime around 2009.
