Jasmine Lowson
Jasmine Lowson (born 1972) is a British actress, journalist and presenter of Singaporean descent. Early life Lowson was born in Chatham, Kent, South East England to an English father and a Singaporean mother (''née'' Yam Kheng Chan). She moved to Oxfordshire when she was a year old. When she was 16, her mother remarried and she moved to Bristol and currently resides in London. Her mother and step-father moved to Singapore, when her step-father got a professorship there. Career Journalism career Lowson has reported on Channel 4's ''The Big Breakfast'' prior to joining the BBC's ''Liquid News'' in September 2003. Chatham, Kent
Chatham ( ) is a town located within the Medway unitary authority in the ceremonial county of Kent, England. The town forms a conurbation with neighbouring towns Gillingham, Rochester, Strood and Rainham. The town developed around Chatham Dockyard and several Army barracks, together with 19th-century forts which provided a defensive shield for the dockyard. The Corps of Royal Engineers is still based in Chatham at Brompton Barracks. The Dockyard closed in 1984, but the remaining major naval buildings are an attraction for a flourishing tourist industry. Following closure, part of the site was developed as a commercial port, other parts were redeveloped for business and residential use, and part was used as the Chatham Historic Dockyard museum. ITV2 is a British free-to-air television channel owned by ITV Digital Channels, a division of ITV plc. It was launched on 7 December 1998. The ITV News Channel was a 24-hour television news channel in the United Kingdom which broadcast from 1 August 2000 to 23 December 2005.
