Jared Bird
Jared Bird (born 1 January 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays for Northern Premier League side Ilkeston Town as a midfielder. Career Youth career In June 2016, Bird was released by Derby County at the end of his two-year scholarship. Barnsley Bird signed his first professional deal in July 2016, and spent the majority of the 2016–17 season as captain of the Under-23s. He was named in the first team squad on a single occasion but didn't make an appearance. In June 2017, Bird signed a contract extension. On 15 August 2017, Bird made his debut in a 2–1 win over Nottingham Forest. He replaced George Moncur for a 24-minute cameo appearance from the bench. Bird was released by Barnsley at the end of the 2019–20 season. Yeovil Town loan On 4 January 2018, Bird joined League Two side Yeovil Town on loan until the end of the 2017–18 season. EFL Championship
The English Football League Championship (often referred to as the Championship for short or the Sky Bet Championship for sponsorship purposes) is the highest division of the English Football League (EFL) and second-highest overall in the English football league system, after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs. Introduced for the 2004–05 season as the Football League Championship the division was previously known as the Football League Second Division ( 1892– 1992) and Football League First Division ( 1992– 2004). FA Trophy
The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system. This covers the National League, the Southern League, Isthmian League, and Northern Premier League. 2021–22 Northern Premier League
The 2021–22 season will be the 54th season of the Northern Premier League. The league consists of four divisions, the Premier Division at Step 3 of the National League System, and the West, East and Midlands divisions at Step 4. The NPL continued this season with main sponsors Entain's Pitching In. As the previous season was curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with all results finalised, the Trident Leagues along with the Football Association decided to make the realignment to leagues at Steps 4, 5 and 6. The English Football League Trophy, known for sponsorship purposes as the Papa Johns Trophy after restaurant chain Papa John's Pizza, is an annual English association football knockout competition open to all clubs in EFL League One and EFL League Two, with the addition of 16 under-21 teams from Premier League and EFL Championship clubs since the 2016–17 season.
