The Jamkaran Mosque ( fa, مسجد جمکران, ') is one of the primary significant mosques in Jamkaran, a village in the outskirts of the city of Qom, Iran. Overview and history The mosque, six kilometers east of Qom, has long been a sacred place, at least since 373 A.H., 17th of Ramadan (22 February 984 C.E.), when according to the mosque website, one Sheikh Hassan ibn Muthlih Jamkarani is reported to have met the 12th Imam along with the prophet Al-Khidr. (), also known as (), is a doctrine in Shia Islam positing that some of the dead will return to life before the Resurrection to avenge their oppression. In Twelver Shia doctrine, the concept of is closely intertwined with the eschatological concept of occultation () and the reappearance of the twelfth Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi in the end times to establish peace and justice on earth. Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-Mahdī ( ar, محمد بن الحسن المهدي) is believed by the Twelver Shia to be the last of the Twelve Imams and the eschatological Mahdi, who will emerge in the end of time to establish peace and justice and redeem Islam. Hasan al-Askari, the eleventh Imam, died in 260 AH (873-874 CE), possibly poisoned by the Abbasids. Immediately after his death, his main representative, Uthman ibn Sa'id, claimed that the eleventh Imam had an infant son named Muhammad, who was kept hidden from the public out of fear of Abbasid persecution. "Salam Farmandeh" ( fa, سلام فرمانده, Hi Commander'), also known as 'Salam Ya Mahdi', is a Persian song produced by Iranian artist Abuzar Rouhi, about General Soleimani, and Imam Mahdi and is mainly performed in large groups by youngsters around the world. The song, a relatively long choir in the pop genre, was released in March 2022 just before the New Persian Year (Farvardin 1401) on social media and later received attention in April and May 2022.
