JŽ Series 441
The JŽ series 441 is an electric locomotive built for Yugoslav Railways. The units are now used by Croatian Railways, Hrvatske željeznice (HŽ series 1141), Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željeznice Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine, Railways of Republika Srpska, Željeznice Republike Srpske, Serbian Railways, Železnice Srbije and TPP Nikola Tesla, rail transport of TPP Nikola Tesla (ŽS 441), Macedonian Railways, Makedonski Železnici, Turkish State Railways and Căile Ferate Române, Romanian Railways-CFR. History This series is originally based on the license of the Swedish company ASEA and the SJ Rb locomotive from Sweden. SJ Rb
Rb is an electric locomotive operated by Swedish State Railways (). Six locomotives were built by Allmänna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget, ASEA, in three series designated Rb1, Rb2 or Rb3. History During the 1950s SJ saw the need for a new universal locomotive, since the SJ D, D-series was aging. In 1955 the SJ Ra, Ra-series had proved successful with bogie wheels. At the same time there was interest to make a locomotive that could be exported abroad. The result was an agreement between ASEA and SJ where six test engines were delivered. Căile Ferate Române (; abbreviated as the CFR) was the state railway carrier of Romania. The company was dissolved on 1 October 1998 by splitting into several successor companies. CFR as an entity existed from 1880, even though the first railway on current Romanian territory was opened in 1854. TPP Nikola Tesla, commonly known as TENT, is a power plant complex operated by Elektroprivreda Srbije, located on the right bank of the river Sava, approximately 40 km upstream from Downtown Belgrade, near the city municipality of Obrenovac. By far the largest one in Serbia, the complex generates around 17,263 GWh annually, which covers almost half of Serbia's needs for electricity. The complex and two of its plants are named in honor of Nikola Tesla. These power plants use lignite mined from the RB Kolubara as fuel.
