José Brandão Gonçalves Júnior (born 7 January 1995), known as Júnior Brandão, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward. Club career Early career Born in Ibiúna, São Paulo, Brandão finished his formation with Taboão da Serra. In May 2015, after representing ''CATS'' in the 2015 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, he joined Juventus de Seara in the Campeonato Catarinense Série B. Brandão made his senior debut on 28 June 2015, playing the last 19 minutes in a 1–1 home draw against Atlético Tubarão. He scored his first goals seven days later, netting a brace in a 9–0 home routing of Blumenau. On 29 July, he scored a hat-trick in a 3–2 home win against Operário de Mafra. On 23 September 2015, Brandão signed for Série D side Ypiranga-RS, and featured rarely as his side achieved promotion to Série C. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D), commonly known as the Série D or the Brazilian Série D to distinguish it from the Italian Serie D, is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on 9 April 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three Wicket#Dismissing a batsman, wickets with three consecutive delivery (cricket), deliveries.
