Júlíus Jónasson
Júlíus Jónasson (born 1964) is an Icelandic handball player and coach. He played for the Iceland men's national handball team at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where the Icelandic team placed fourth. Jónasson was the head coach for the Iceland women's national handball team from 2006 to 2011. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. The Iceland women's national handball team is the national handball team of Iceland and takes part in international team handball competitions. They qualified to the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship. This was the first time they qualified to any international championship. They finished with the 15th place.
