Jørpeland Kirke
Jørpeland is the administrative centre of Strand municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The town is located on the western coast of the mainland, along the shore of the Idsefjorden, about northeast of the city of Stavanger. It sits along the Norwegian National Road 13 a short distance southeast of the village of Tau where the Ryfast tunnel has its eastern entrance. The name "Jørpeland" is composed of the slightly changed Old Norse word "jarpr", which translates to brown, and the word land ("brownland"). The reason for this name is that historically, the river Jørpelandsånå used to turn brown during times of flood. The town has a population (2019) of 7,230 and a population density of . Jørpeland is also known as "Pulpit Rock City", because Jørpeland is nearest city to the Preikestolen, which attracts tourists from all over the world. Ryfast
Ryfast is a subsea tunnel system in Rogaland county, Norway. The tunnel system is part of the Norwegian National Road 13, and it runs between the Stavanger (city), city of Stavanger in Stavanger Municipality, under a large fjord, and the area of Solbakk in the municipality of Strand, Norway, Strand. When the last section was drilled on 26 October 2017, Ryfast became the longest undersea road tunnel in the world, with its length greater than the Eysturoyartunnilin in the Faroe Islands at , the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, Tokyo Bay Tunnel in Japan at , and the Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge, Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel at in China. Hugo Mikal Skår (born 27 October 1978) is a Norwegian actor. Education Skår is a graduate of the Nordic Institute of Stage and Studio (NISS) in Oslo, where he spent three years in acting school. Anthony Knapp (13 October 1936 – 22 March 2023) was an English football player and manager, who played as a defender in the English football league in the 1960s. Career Knapp was born in Newstead, Nottinghamshire. Jørpeland Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Strand Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the town of Jørpeland. It is the church for the Jørpeland parish which is part of the Ryfylke prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. Lysefjorden
Lysefjord or Lysefjorden is a fjord located in the Ryfylke area in Rogaland county in southwestern Norway. The long fjord lies in the municipalities of Strand and Sandnes, about east of the city of Stavanger. The name means ''light fjord'', and is said to be derived from the lightly coloured granite rocks along its sides. It is particularly well known for the huge Preikestolen cliff overlooking the fjord, which is a major tourist destination for the region. The fairly isolated village of Lysebotn lies at the eastern end of the fjord and the villages of Forsand and Oanes both lie at the western end of the fjord near the Lysefjord Bridge, the only crossing of the fjord.
