Danish (, ; , ) is a North Germanic languages, North Germanic language from the Indo-European languages, Indo-European language family spoken by about six million people, principally in and around Denmark. Bertha Jorgensen
Bertha May Jorgensen (17 May 1904 – 11 January 1999) was an Australian violinist and concertmaster of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO). Early life Bertha May Jorgensen was born in Castlemaine, Victoria on 17 May 1904. She gave her first public performance there at age five, receiving "prolonged applause". She later travelled to Melbourne each week to study with Alberto Zelman. She was educated at St Catherine's School from 1910 to 1919. Career Moving with her family to Melbourne, Jorgensen joined Zelman's Albert Street Conservatorium Orchestra (later the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) at age 15. When appointed concertmaster of the orchestra in 1923, she was the first woman to lead a professional orchestra in Australia. Emil Jørgensen
Emil Ludvig Peter Jørgensen (7 February 1882 in Gentofte – 23 March 1947 in Gentofte) was a Danish amateur football player and administrator. He played four games for the Denmark national football team, and won a silver medal at the 1912 Summer Olympics. Biography Jørgensen was an energetic and strong half back, with a knack for going on the offensive to shoot from the distance. He represented Danish clubs ØB and B 93. He made his Danish national team debut in October 1911. He was part of the Danish team, which won the silver medal in the football tournament of the 1912 Summer Olympics. He had trouble getting the days off at his everyday workplace in the Copenhagen tax office, so Jørgensen missed the first Danish game of the tournament. Ellen Sophie Rasmine Jørgensen (1877–1948) was a Danish historian and librarian. She is remembered internationally for her authoritative books on Danish historiography, including ''Historieforskning og Historieskrivning i Danmark intil Aar 1800'' (1931). Her earlier doctorate thesis ''Helgendyrkelse i Danmark i Middelalderens senere Tid'' provides a detailed, well-sourced account of the church and scholarly history of Denmark and Europe in the Late Middle Ages. Ejler Andreas Christoffer Jorgensen aka Eiler Jørgensen (July 16, 1838 – December 17, 1876) was a Danish-born American landscape and portrait painter. Biography Eiler Jørgensen was born in Sømme Herred in Roskilde, Denmark. He was the eldest son of parish priest Søren Hillerup Jørgensen (1806-1847) and Conradine van Deurs (1812-1890). He was a student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (''Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi'') in Copenhagen (1860). He relocated to the United States in 1873. He was professionally active in San Francisco in the 1870s. Jorgensen painted in Hawaii in 1875. He died in Oakland, California in 1876. Richard M. Jorgensen (April 12, 1934 – October 10, 1990) was an American football official in the National Football League (NFL) for 22 years, through the 1989 season, the last 19 years as a referee. Jorgensen's officiating career was highlighted by being selected to referee Super Bowl XXIV in January 1990. He was an alternate official for Super Bowl VIII in 1974 and Super Bowl XV in 1981. Dan Jannik Jørgensen (; born 12 June 1975) is a Danish politician of the Social Democrats who has served as the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing since 2024. Within Danish politics, he most recently served as Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy in the government of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen from 2022 to 2024. Claus Bech Jørgensen
Claus Bech Jørgensen (born 27 April 1976) is a Faroese former professional footballer who is a youth team coach at AaB. Born in Denmark, he represented the Faroe Islands national team between 2004 and 2006. He first established himself as a player in the Danish Football League with Holstebro BK, AGF Aarhus and AC Horsens, though did not make the Superliga. In 1999, he joined the Football League in England. He later made over 100 appearances for AFC Bournemouth and Blackpool, as well as more than 50 appearances for Bradford City and Coventry City. He was named Bournemouth's Player of the Year for the 1999–2000 season. He helped Blackpool to win promotion out of League One via the play-offs in 2007.
