József Torgyán
József Torgyán (16 November 1932 − 22 January 2017) was a Hungarian lawyer and politician, chairman of the Independent Smallholders' Party (1991−2002), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (1998−2001) in the Government of Viktor Orbán. Biography Between 1951-1955 he studied at the Faculty of Law of the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest (ELTE). He took part in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. After graduation, he worked as a lawyer, since political activity was repressed. In 1988 he was among the founders of the Independent Smallholders Party. In 1990 he received the first seat in the National Assembly (re-elected in 1994 and 1998). After Fidesz had won the first round of the parliamentary elections in 1998, the Smallholders Party concluded an alliance with Fidesz, as a result of which center right parties obtained a majority in the National Assembly. Hungarian Democratic Forum
The Hungarian Democratic Forum (, , MDF) was a centre-right political party in Hungary. It had a Hungarian nationalist, national-conservative, Christian-democratic ideology. The party was represented continuously in the National Assembly from the restoration of democracy in 1990 until 2010. It was dissolved on 8 April 2011. The MDF was the largest party on Hungary's emergence as a democratic country under the leadership of József Antall, Prime Minister between 1990 and 1993. Ferenc József Nagy (22 April 1923 – 14 May 2019) was a Hungarian agrarian engineer and politician, who served as Minister of Agriculture between 1990 and 1991. After that he was appointed minister without portfolio, he also held this position in the cabinet of Péter Boross until 1994. Nagy was the chairman of the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party for a short time. Professional life Ferenc József Nagy was born into an affluent peasant family in Kisharsány, Baranya County on 22 April 1923. His Calvinist parents, Ferenc Nagy (1890–1939) and Ilona Kovács (1896–1980) were farming on 47 acres. He had a sister, Ilona (1920–1980). Ferenc József Nagy married Erzsébet Bobár in 1951. They had three children: Ferenc (b. 1952), Piroska (b. 1953) and Attila (b. 1957). Lajos Für
Lajos Für (21 December 1930 – 22 October 2013) was a Hungarian politician and historian, who served as Minister of Defence between 1990 and 1994. From 1994 to 1996 he was also chairman of the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF), the ruling conservative party led by late prime minister József Antall to his death in 1993. Für was born in Egyházasrádóc. He participated in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. In later years, he was active in Magyar Gárda, a paramilitary organization which had connections to Jobbik and was described as neo-fascist. He died, aged 82, on 22 October 2013, in Budapest. The National Theatre of Pécs is the main theatre of Pécs, Hungary. History Theatrical plays became a regular attraction in the city from the beginning of the 19th century in German and Hungarian language. Most often they were arranged in larger dancing halls, inns, the small stage of Tettye or the Elefánt-house Inn. While being continuously planned from 1815 onwards, the first theatre opened only in 1840 in the Mária street. Demolished in 1890, only a sketch of the facade remained from this building. To meet the demand for a high-quality structure, the city council set up a committee, led by mayor János Aidinger to coordinate the planning. The design competition of 1890 was won by Adolf Lang and Adolf Steinhardt, who, in cooperation with the renowned Fellner-Helmer duo, and 10 000 Ft granted by the county council, started the construction.
