The men's high jump field event at the 1972 Summer Olympics, 1972 Olympic Games took place on September 9 and 10 at the Olympiastadion (Munich), Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany. Forty athletes from 26 nations competed. The maximum number of athletes per nation had been set at 3 since the 1930 Olympic Congress.
