Jóan Símun Edmundsson
Jóan Símun Edmundsson (born 26 July 1991) is a Faroese professional footballer who plays for Icelandic club KA Akureyri and the Faroe Islands national team. Club career B68 Toftir Edmundsson started his career with B68 Toftir. Newcastle United In December 2009, Edmundsson joined Newcastle United on loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal, after a successful trial during a reserve friendly against Hibernian. Faroe Islands National Football Team
The Faroe Islands national football team (, ) represents the Faroe Islands in men's international football, and is governed by the Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF). The FSF became a member of FIFA in 1988 and UEFA in 1990 and represents the fourth-smallest UEFA country by population. The team has never advanced to the finals of the FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship. They took part in the Island Games in 1989 and 1991 and won both tournaments.
