János Cserni
János Cserni (born Budapest, 1971) is a Hungarian judge and journalist, the founding member of Galamus, a left-wing Hungarian online newspaper. Cserni holds degrees of both journalism and law. Work Cserni's judgements first gained media attention, when in an unprecedented ruling, he sentenced András Bencsik, to time in prison in a criminal trial for libel, instead of a monetary fine. Bencsik, the editor of the right wing paper, Magyar Demokrata was sued for an article written by Attila Bertók László. The verdict concerned statements made about SZDSZ politician Imre Mécs and was followed by international protest and condemnation. The Supreme Court of Hungary finally overruled Cserni's verdict and sentenced Bencsik to a fine of 60 000 Ft ($300), instead of prison. Cserni did not accept that verdict and turned to the Constitutional Court of Hungary. The Alliance of Free Democrats – Hungarian Liberal Party (, , SZDSZ ) was a liberal political party in Hungary. The SZDSZ was a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party and of Liberal International. Imre Mécs
Imre Mécs (4 September 1933 – 19 January 2023) was a Hungarian politician. Following the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, he was sentenced to death, then his sentence was mitigated to a prison sentence. He was released in 1963 and worked as an electrical engineer. Later he became a founding member of the Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ). He was elected on the SZDSZ party ticket to the Hungarian Parliament in 1990 and served several consecutive terms. Over differences with his party, he quit SZDSZ and was elected on the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) ticket (but not a member of) in 2006. He did not manage to win a seat in the 2010 elections, ending his parliamentary career. In January 2011 he rejoined his old party, SZDSZ. Gábor Kuncze (born 4 November 1950 in Pápa) is a Politics of Hungary, Hungarian liberal politician, former chairman of the Hungary, Hungarian Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ). He became anchorman at the radio channel Klubrádió in 2008 while he was still an SZDSZ member of Parliament. Later, in 2010, he also became a host for the television channel Magyar ATV, ATV. Máriusz Révész (born 31 May 1967, in Budapest) is a Hungarian politician of the Fidesz party and a former Member of the Parliament. Youth His family originate from Kőbánya, Budapest. He finished his secondary studies at the I. László Gymnasium in 1985. Révész attended the Ho Si Minh Teacher Training College (present-day Eszterházy Károly Catholic University) in Eger from 1985 to 1989. Ágnes Geréb (born 20 December 1952) is a Hungarian gynaecologist, midwife and psychologist. She is the pioneer of including paternal participation in deliveries of children at hospitals and in homebirths in Hungary. She founded the Napvilág birthing centre. Geréb has helped deliver 3,500 babies at home. Geréb's license to practice medicine was revoked for 3 years in 2007 as punishment for the death of a newborn in 2000, and in 2009 she was charged with manslaughter relating to an earlier home birth when a baby died after a difficult labour.
